Global Poker Index or GPI has released its survey for the best poker player to have been recorded in the past decade. Daniel Negreanu is dubbed the “Poker Player of the Decade” according to the independent ranking service for the classic online casino prime game. The recognition for Negreanu could be attributed to the outstanding 2013 performance of the poker pro. Negreanu won several major poker tournaments over the past years and in 2013, bagged the Player of the Year award. The poker expert is also known as one of the most popular poker players in the world. Negreanu’s first ever WSOP bracelet was gained last 1998 when he was just 23 years old.
Negreanu also became the youngest World Series of Poker player to have bagged the WSOP gold bracelet. In the following years, the poker pro strived hard to keep garnering major tournaments and has competed amongst the best known players and pros in the poker industry in the world. For his lifetime earnings, Negreanu recorded $19,549,209 from live poker tournaments. Negreanu commented in an interview, “Winning is an important goal for me and I never depended on my name. In the past decade, the poker game has definitely changed a lot. The stellar year for the poker pro also concluded with the WSOP title Poker of the Year and another of the same recognition from Card Player. GPI also released their latest rankings and came up with Negreanu as the number one player among the roster of pros today. According to analysts and sports fanatics, Negreanu is not just the best there is for the last 10 years but the best player right now.
